WHERE BLACK SHEEP MOUTH OFF FOR THE SEASON

Stuff it, Uncle Bob, and your Metaverse talk of a war against Christmas. Gorge yourself on an even more subversive take on The Holidays at Story Story Late-Night.

Positively shameless, hear savory details that’d make your salty grandma say: “Do they eat with that mouth?”

Rated R to XXX, how much story time can you swallow? (Don’t read that dirty. Or do.)

With featured storytellers intermixed with an uncensored story slam, what happens at Late-Night, stays at Late-Night…until we put it on our podcast.

Alley Repertory Theater presents: The Normal Heart

Alley Repertory Theater presents: The Normal Heart

Exploring the early days of an epidemic, and homophobia and prejudice around infectious disease, The Normal Heart by Larry Kramer pangs with poignant parallels and eerie echoes.

Pulitzer-nominated, The Normal Heart is set in 1980s New York and explores the impact of the AIDS endemic in the early years.   A searing drama about public and private indifference to the AIDS plague and one man’s lonely fight to awaken the world to the crisis.  Based on Kramer’s real-life experience, writer and activist Ned Weeks attempts to channel his anger at the systems in place while he fights to unite the gay community to talk about their rights to survive.

Visual Arts Collective is a 21+ venue. Valid I.D. required. Doors open 1 hour prior to performance.

Ephemeral Explorations

Ephemeral Explorations

The Alex Sjobeck Trio and Yurek Hansen, in collaboration with Idaho Dance Theatre, unite to explore multidisciplinary creative improvisation. Improvising collectively as musicians and dancers, the artists will take you on a journey exploring diverse moods, each with a unique theme brought to life by producing an ephemeral work of art.

The Alley Affair: A fundraiser for Alley Repertory Theater

The Alley Affair: A fundraiser for Alley Repertory Theater

An evening of celebration to raise money to support bold, risk-taking theater, with performances highlighting the evolution of our company.

From the founding of Alley Repertory Theater to the moment we won (in collaboration) an indecency lawsuit against the State of Idaho; to exploring each person’s ‘freedom to be’, through the downturn of the pandemic and emerging as a home for fantastic and powerful productions, we’ll tell the story of Alley Rep as you’ve never heard it before. The event includes a silent auction of spectacular experiences and items you won’t want to miss.

The Alley Affair evening will be a special night out with fantastic food, community, stories, songs, and, most importantly – your opportunity to directly support an essential and relevant theatrical company that serves a unique place in the Treasure Valley’s artistic world.

Woos’n Brews with Moonsong Malamute Rescue

Woos’n Brews with Moonsong Malamute Rescue

Woos N’ Brews is returning to Barbarian for the 2nd year in a row!
We are partnering with local non-profit, Moonsong Malamute Rescue, for their annual fundraiser. All proceeds from the silent auction and logo’d pint glasses will go to Moonsong, in addition to a portion of beer sales from Barbarian.
We’ll have a food truck for humans (Sizzlin’ Stone) and for the doggies (2 Paws Up Barkery), in addition to Adventure Tails selling locally made dog accessories.
Have a dog? Bring em’ down! Just remember that all dogs MUST be on a leash and be well-behaved… including the Barbarian rescued Malamute, Thor (he’s the handsome dude on the event cover photo).
Don’t have a dog but want to pet some glorious malamutes? Come on down and hang with us! There will be lots of snuggles to go around as these gentle giants usually LOVE human attention. There will also be a few dogs available for adoption.
